No chemical oder, Firmness just fine, soft top cover layer
I did some research on mattresses before deciding on this one.Basically, you choose:- Spring vs Memory Foam vs Latex (or hybrid)- Thickness (8 , 10 inches, etc.)- Firmness levelIf Latex:- Natural or Synthetic materials- Dunlop vs Talalay processing methodThe deciding factors for me:I wanted to try latex (first time) and this one was made from natural materials, used the Talalay method, made in USA and it was reasonably priced. I’ll have to update my review in a couple weeks or months to really make an assessment but the mattress was fine. No strong chemical smell, soft cashmere top cover and firmness level is what I expected. I think people forget that you have to factor in body mass and number of people (yourself or with a spouse/partner) when choosing firmness and thickness of a mattress. As for negatives, on one end of the mattress, it slopes down and foundation seems weaker Possibly due to how the mattress is rolled up for shipping It’s only at the very end so not really an issue but something to point out. Also, the inner packaging was fine and wrapped well and neatly, but the cardboard box that it was shipped in was torn and beaten up. The seller isn’t necessarily at fault because it probably happened during the shipping process but it’s been an issue recently with Amazon in general. Anyway, I think it comes down to individual preferences on what you want in a mattress but this one checked off everything I was looking for and the mattess itself was what I hoped for and expected when I made the purchase. Considering to get a Full size one for my toddler.
