Is it recommended to use a boxspring with this?

The instructions recommend the mattress have full support, whether that be a box spring or adequate wood slats under to support the mattress, but also allow the mattress to "breathe" from the bottom (and not just the top and sides). ?So, positioned directly on the floor or on a solid piece of plywood is not recommended.

yes. this natural late mattress fit any beds frame: box spring, platform, slats, bunk beds,trundle beds, or just on the floor have a nice day sunrising bedding team

The manufacturer website recommends a board below the mattress for even support if using a box spring.
